This bow resembles the #5 bow, but is very short and stocky. The type was very popular as a sporting and cavalry bow in the late 15th and 16th centuries. It is rather oval in cross-section, and comes with tapered head, cheekpiece, and veneer top, with quarrel rest. The standard lockplates are rawhide.
